Kriska Transportation Group companies work together in many capacities. Sometimes they help balance each others network by moving loads, sometimes they lend equipment or share staff with special expertise. This past weekend Kriska, Mill Creek Motor Freight and TransPro came together at TruckWorld 2018 to recruit new drivers to the family.
The bi-annual TruckWorld is a massive show that fills the International Centre in Mississauga, ON. With hundreds of vendors and over 70 carriers recruiting KTG?s Ontario asset based companies were an attractive stop for potential drivers to visit. Their shared 30? booth was strategically located at the entrance to the recruiting pavilion and had heavy foot traffic.
Kriska, TransPro and Mill Creek have had adjacent booths in the past but the 2018 event is the first at which they shared a single large space and coordinated KTG branded decoration. Flags featuring the logos of every KTG company and tablecloths with the company and KTG logo brought the space together.
Although they share a common parent company each KTG carrier is distinct and attracts drivers interested in their individual offerings. TransPro for drivers that like LTL, Mill Creek draws those interested in long haul to Texas and Kriska is attractive to drivers wanting to work closer to home. Recruiters Caroline Blais (Kriska), Mike Frolick (TransPro) and Greta Krasteva (Mill Creek) are trucking veterans and don?t hesitate to introduce potential recruits to one another based on that drivers work requirements. Joining the recruiters at their booth were drivers, office staff and even a General Manager to welcome new recruits.
A special event at this year?s show was the presentation of Top Fleet Employer certificates. Cheryl Mercer and Bridget O?Shaughnessy from Trucking HR Canada congratulated both Kriska and TransPro on their achievements.
TruckWorld is a celebration of the Canadian trucking industry and Kriska Transportation Group companies love attending. It gives us an opportunity to put our best foot forward to visit with partners, vendors and welcome potential employees. We met many drivers and as a group with 4 trucking companies, 600 trucks, 1700 trailers delivering over 150,000 loads and driving 53 million miles a year we think there?s a fit for every one of them to join us.
